The Sweetgrass Golf Club is well known among golfers as a premier golfing spot in Michigan. And that tub – it was the perfect place to relax and unwind! They had such a serene and peaceful vibe – the perfect counterbalance to the flashing and dinging excitement of the actual casino. I absolutely fell in love with the bedrooms. You can check out my walk through tour of the suite here: Mel and I each had our own rooms and full bathrooms (with jacuzzi tubs) and the shared area in between was a beautifully furnished living room, dining area and fully equipped kitchen. We were put up in a Presidential Suite and to call it humungous would be an understatement. We vowed to take advantage of those penny slots and see how far we could make our money go! First off, there is the casino! Since Mel and I aren’t big gamblers, we were thrilled to walk in and find that they offer a variety of slot machines ranging from a penny on up. Island Resort and Casino offers a variety of things to do. Why is Island Resort and Casino a great girls’ getaway destination? If you aren’t familiar with Island Resort and Casino, it’s located in Harris, Michigan which is in the UP. I recently got to have one such girls’ getaway with my friend Mel from thanks to the generosity of Island Resort and Casino who were kind enough to host us for some fun, relaxation and delicious food.

Every once in a while I need a break just like anyone else and a girls’ getaway with some fun and pampering is a great way for me to unwind and recharge my batteries! But that doesn’t mean that it’s easy – I work hard. I love spending time with my family and am the first to admit that my job is fun on more days than not. I love being a mom and feel so incredibly blessed to be able to work from home.
